You can view the full programme here.
Site Map
The Viking site is located near Moesgaard Beach. You can locate activities using the maps displayed on-site, or download (and print) a map here.

Parking
Free parking is available a short distance from the site. You can see parking options here or simply follow the signs when you arrive:
- South of Restaurant Skovmøllen – our main parking area. Park here and enjoy a scenic 800-meter walk through the forest to the Viking site.
- Moesgaard Strand – the public parking lot next to the beach kiosk is the closest to the site (approx. 400 meters).
- Accessible parking - a limited number of accessible parking options is available. Please contact info@moesgaardmuseum.dk in advance with your arrival date and license plate number if you need accessible parking close to the Viking site. Alternatively, you can request permission to drive down to the site to drop someone off, after which you can park at Skovmøllen and walk back through the forest.
Buses
If you're arriving by bus, you have two options:
- Bus 18 runs from Banegårdspladsen in Aarhus to Moesgaard Museum. From there, it’s a pleasant 2-kilometre walk through the manor park and forest to the Viking site.
- Bus 31 runs from Aarhus to Moesgaard Beach, just south of the city. From there, walk south along the beach to the Viking site, located just behind the yellow fisherman’s house.
You can download or print an area map here.
Have Your Ticket Ready
Please print your ticket in advance or have it ready on your phone. Tickets will be scanned at the entrance by the fisherman’s house at Moesgaard Beach or at the forest entrance.
Food and Drink
Food stalls at the site offer meals, drinks, ice cream, coffee, and snacks. Please note that queues may form around lunchtime. To avoid waiting, we recommend planning an early or late lunch.
Stalls and Payment
Most stalls do not accept credit cards. We recommend bringing MobilePay and cash, as some vendors only accept cash payments.
Discount on Admission and Annual Passes to Moesgaard
Extend your experience! From 24 to 31 July 2025, bring your Viking Days ticket to Moesgaard and receive 50% off museum admission or 25% off an annual pass.
Among other things, you can explore the special exhibitions Mother Earth and Warrior. This will be your last chance to see Mother Earth, as the exhibition closes on 10 August.

What to wear
We recommend wearing practical clothing and footwear, so you can join in on the many activities at the Viking site. If the weather is good, bring swimwear – a refreshing dip at Moesgaard Beach is just a short walk away!
